Youth Ministry

The Harmony Creek Church Youth Group is truly thriving at this stage in the life of our church.  The youth group meets multiple times a month, engaging in spiritual practices, enjoying social activities and outings, completing mission and ministry projects, and participating in worship services and other gatherings with the full body of the church.  In addition to our “All Youth” Youth Group, we offer Confirmation Classes every other academic year and Our Whole Lives (OWL) Classes for various age groups, ideally offered during alternating academic years.  If you have any questions about the Youth Ministries at Harmony Creek Church or would like to learn more, please reach out to our Director of Youth Ministries, Rev. Raven Rowe, at youth@harmony-creek.org.

The Spiritual Practices of the Harmony Creek Church “All Youth” Youth Group

“Lectio Divina” is a form or scripture meditation where the same scripture is read three times.  The first time, you are listening for a word that stands out or speaks to you, and you share this word or phrase with the group.  The second time, you are listening for a word or phrase that speaks to you, either the same or different from round one, and in the second round you also share the reason why that word or phrase is speaking to you.  The third time, you share what you feel God is calling you to do in the days and weeks ahead, based on the reading.  We often use one of the selections from the lectionary text for each scripture meditation.  This is a great way for all of us to become more familiar with some of the scriptures that are meaningful to our faith tradition.  This is also a truly awesome practice for intentionally listening to the voice of the "Still Speaking God."

“Visio Divina” is another sacred practice that we use during our your group gatherings. Instead of turning to scripture as we do in the practice of Lectio Divina, these practices involve utilizing visuals to gain insight and inspiration as we open ourselves up for this practice of sacred reflection.  Questions raised are similar to the questions for Lectio Divina.  Together, we honor that “God is Still Speaking” and that sometimes She doesn’t use words.

Children's Ministry

Welcome to Great Adventure!

Our children's programs bring life to ministry and create an environment where all children can thrive. Every child deserves a place where they can feel free to ask questions, be accepted, and learn how to love themselves and the community around them.

Great Adventure is a place for learning, fun, making friends and memories, and ADVENTURE!  It meets during our Sunday morning worship.

At Harmony Creek Church, we teach love and kindness to all. "All" means our friends and family, people in the community, the environment around us, and ourselves.
