Contemplative Walk
Saturday, March 21, 10am, Cox Arboretum
What is a contemplative walk?
A contemplative walk is a slow, mindful, intentional practice of moving through nature to foster presence, inner stillness, spiritual connection and connecting within the group. This is the whole of the practice: noticing, moving, listening, and pausing at your own pace. It is a simple practice of presence in nature and inner stillness.
Details:
We will meet at the sign (pictured) near the parking lot and visitors center at Cox Arboretum, have a short introduction, then go for a 20 minute walk (paved surfaces) over a ½ mile route. Please note that this is slow walk of contemplation, not intended to “get your steps in”. There are benches along the way if you wish to stop and meditate or reflect.
Look for Pam Powers, in the green hat with a woodpecker on it. The walk will be rain or shine.
Contemplative walks are every 3rd Saturday of the month at 10am in locations to be announced.

Centering Prayer
Thursdays at 10 am, HCC Lounge
To borrow an idea from one of our forebears “these are the times that try our souls”. If this is your experience perhaps you would like to try Centering Prayer.
What is it?
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer which deepens our relationship to God. Centering Prayer does not define God. This is for each individual to do. The practice of Centering Prayer opens us to the presence of God deep within us beyond our thoughts and emotions.
What happens at Centering Prayer?
There is a brief check-in followed by a short reading, poem, or music. We then sit in silence for 20 minutes then leave in silence.
When does this happen?
Every Thursday at 10 am in the Lounge at HCC. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Pam Powers (ipampublic@gmail.com), Carol Pohly (carol.pohly@gmail.com), or Roselin Runnels (rrunn209@gmail.com).
